This customer called because his master bedroom heat pump was not operating correctly. It was making an unusual loud sound outside. He is a maintenance club membership client so we scheduled him the same day with a discounted service call to diagnose the problem, and recommend a repair or replacement solution. The technician found the reversing valve was not operating correctly causing the outdoor heat pump unit not to function in heat mode. The customer was running on the electric auxiliary heat which is inefficient and causes high energy consumption. We presented him with the option to replace the reversing valve or to upgrade his equipment with a new heat pump and air handler. He chose to replace his 20 year old unit with a new Goodman brand comfort system. He also wanted to improve his indoor air quality so we included an upgrade with new supply and return plenums and a germicidal UV light and Oxidizing UV air cleaner which helps eliminate microbials and cleans the air. His brand new system was installed in only one day and his master bedroom is now warm and the air is clean and fresh. Happy Customer in Cumming Georgia!
